Girls Varsity and JV Cross Country Place 4th at County Meet

Westfield cross country was back in action over the weekend competing in the Hamilton County Meet at the Chinquapin Ridge course in Noblesville. The wet and rainy conditions did not stop the Rocks from having some good team races and performances throughout the morning. In the girls varsity race, which featured 5 of the top 15 teams in the state, the Rocks placed 4th as a team behind #1 Carmel, #6 HSE, and #11 Noblesville. Leading Westfield was sophomore Liv Lozier with a 6th place finish in a time of 18:48. Freshmen Mackenna Condon placed 19th overall in her first career 5k as the Rocks 2nd finisher in a time of 19:57. Remaining scorers for Westfield's 4th place team included Sam Foster, Gianna Ferreri and Ella Bozarth. The Rocks junior varsity squad also pulled through with a 4th place team finish. Junior Izzy McCulloch was the first finisher for Westfield placing 18th in a time of 21:47. Sophomore Sam Plummer was not far behind finishing in 20th with a time of 21:49. Remaining Scorers for the Rocks included Eliana Colon, Maryn Babb, and Lyla Osborn. Westfield Girls Cross Country will next compete in the Marion Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan on September 7th.
