The varsity volleyball team defeated Franklin Central in an intense five-set match on Thursday to improve to 5-1. Paige Rudolph led the offense with 16 kills, followed by Carsyn Comer with 12 kills. Comer, Emily Blevins, Audrey Bassett, and Brooke Neale each added 2 aces. Kendyl Strack once again anchored the defense with 20 digs, followed by Blevins with 12. Izzy Jackson finished the match with 29 assists. The Rocks travel to a stacked Yorktown Invite on Saturday. The JV girls volleyball team made an impressive statement to open conference play with a 2-0 win over Franklin Central Thursday night. The 25-8 and 25-17 set scores means the team is now 6-0 overall and 1-0 in conference. Kenna Robinson was a serving power with 20 serves overall with the team scoring on 17 of those attempts, including 3 aces. Freshman Jordyn Blair dominated on offense hitting a .714 and posted our highest positive player rating for the match. The back row defense was impressive with a season high team passer rating and our front row blockers of Ava Rodda (team high blocks), Avery Pekala and Kailey Sweet shut down the Franklin attack.
