Last night, your Rocks traveled to Fishers to face the Tigers, earning a 28-17 victory. The Shamrock offense started with the ball, but sputtered with a three-and-out. The Rock D returned the favor on the first Tiger possession, and then Westfield’s offense got going. Cole Ballard found Max Nosler for a touchdown (Brody Boehm kick). Fishers, however, would answer, tying things at 7 to end the first quarter of play. The team exchanged some punts, none bigger than a field-flipping boom from Brody Boehm that pinned the Tigers at their own 2-yardline. Fishers put together a solid drive, though, and pushed deep into Shamrock territory before the Rock D stiffened and held them to a field goal. The Rocks got the ball back with only enough time to take and knee, and go into the half down 7-10. Westfield started on defense for the second half, and led things off with a stop. The offense then stepped up with Ballard breaking free for a long touchdown run to retake the lead (Boehm kick). Mikeah Webster then forced a fumble for the Rocks on defense, and it was recovered by Tyler Dikos. The Rocks held onto possession for the remainder of the third, and the score would stand 14-10 Rocks headed to the fourth. In the early part of the final quarter, Ballard would break free for his second touchdown run of the night, extending the lead (Boehm kick). The Rock D stifled the Tiger offense on the next possession, and the Rocks got it back with the intent to drain some time from the clock. They were able to push things to down around 5 minutes remaining before punting the ball back. On the ensuing Tiger possession, Andrew Lieske came up big with an interception, taking it back for the Rocks. Ballard then broke free for his third touchdown run of the night, ensuring the result for the Rocks (Boehm kick). The Tigers would use most of the remaining 3 minutes putting together a scoring drive of their own, but it was too little, too late. The Rocks knelt out the final second, sealing the 28-17 victory. The Rocks will host their final game of the regular season against the Franklin Central Flashes. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
