On October 1, the Shamrocks competed at the Nike Valley Twilight under the lights on the State meet course. Senior Colin Lakomek led the way, running a time of 16:53. Taye Gutwein was Westfield’s second runner, almost matching his previous PR. Will Snedeker earned a new PR and ran under 17:30 for the first time in his career. Caleb Haney and Owen Ferreri (who ran another season best) rounded out the top 5. In the JV race, the squad was led by Luke Sullivan, who matched his PR and earned a top 20 finish. Paul Williams, Ty Conner, Corwyn Barrows, and John Degan rounded out the top 5. Other great races were run by Braeden Dewes, Eli LaRosa (who broke the 20:00 barrier for the first time), Pierce Glodowski, Connor Seagrave, Connor Kubik, Mahlon Kalaba, and Eli Lane – all of these athletes ran new PRs in the last races of their season.
