This Saturday, the Freshman football team hosted the Orioles from Avon in a hard fought game. Avon scored early on a big catch and run by one of their wideouts. On the ensuing possession, TE Brock Parker scored on a 70 yard catch and run from a well thrown ball from QB Gavin McCall. Noah Lee punched in the extra point giving the Rocks the lead. Avon would proceed to score two more times before half going up by a score of 20-7. The Rocks found their wind in the second half. The defense played lights out forcing a key interception late in the fourth. DE Alex MacDonald pressured the Avon QB into throwing a high ball that was picked off by DB Ryder Birk. The Shamrock Offense, led by QB Aidan Grabowski marched down the field to bring the score to 20-14. A Noah Lee onside kick was recovered by WR Nick Ferro to give the Rocks a shot at a comeback victory. Unfortunately, the Rocks ran out of time, losing by a score of 20-14. The Rocks will travel one more time next Saturday as they take on the Fishers Tigers.
