JV girls volleyball improved to 2-0 on the season with a thrilling victory over a strong Yorktown squad on Monday night. They won a back and forth first set 25-19. The second set started out rough but the girls posted a strong rally and gained momentum but eventually lost that set in extras 24-26. Luckily their momentum got them back on track in the third set for a convincing 15-9 set and match victory. A strong defensive effort by Kate Seewald kept the Rocks in many long rallies while Ava Rodda put on a serving clinic for much of the match. Kenna Robinson dished out 25 assists to leading attackers Kailey Sweet (highest kills), Jordyn Blair (highest hitting %) and Laynie Holman who provided a high dose of energy and hitting power coming off the bench as she returned from injury.
