Westfield Girls Track and Field Compete in Sectionals

The Westfield Girls Track and Field team competed in the IHSAA Hamilton Southeastern Sectional at Fishers Wednesday night, finishing 5th as a team and sending many girls on to the Regional next Tuesday. The only event winner for the Shamrocks was a two event winner. Lucy Hauser won both the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles, setting a sectional record in the latter, to continue her stellar season. Several other girls finished in the top 3 of their event, automatically quaklifying fot the regional. Among them was Alivia Lozier, who finished 3rd in the 3200, and broke the school's outdoor record. Jada Henson continued her outstanding season, finishing 3rd in the shot put punching her ticket to Lafayette, as did the 4x400 relay of Maggie Naas, LeBraya Warren, Jordyn Landrum, and Hauser. Likely to receive invitations to the regional due to their outstanding finishes are Liz Smith in the 3200, the 4x100 relay of LeBraya Warren, LeAsia Warren, Abbi Van Bibber, and Josie Vondersaar, the 4x800 of Naas, Smith, Emily Loiselle, and Landrum, Gracie Czubik in the long jump and high jump, and pole vaulters Paige Lemieux, and Alex Hamilton. Other athletes scoring points include Lauren Linville, and Katelyn Eblen. Special recognition to up and coming thrower Kylie Young who had another PR meet. The girls are back in action next Tuesday, May 21 at the IHSAA Lafayette Jefferson regional.
