The Westfield Shamrocks JVW defeated Avon 8-0 on Wednesday evening. Three pitchers combined to shut out Avon and manage only 1 hit against them. Logan Robe started on the mound and earned the win for Westfield. Robe went 3 innings, allowing 0 hits, and 0 runs with 3 strikeouts. Logan Sumpter followed Robe for relief and went 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, with 4 strikeouts. Kasen Jessup closed out the game going 2 innings, allowed 0 hits, 0 runs, with 1 strikeout. The shamrocks filled up the strike zone Wednesday evening throwing a total of 81 pitches and 63% strikes in 7 innings. Jessup led the team in hits with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Maddox Novotney, Landon Campbell, and Cameron Nelson each had 1 hit. Nelson led the team with 2 RBIs. The Shamrocks improve their record to 16-4 for the season and look to sweep Avon on Thursday evening at Avon.
