The 16th ranked boys varsity cross country team placed 6th at the Athletic Annex FlashRock Invitational last Saturday. Jack Loiselle led the way for the Shamrocks, with his top 25 finish in a loaded field. Owen Flynn, William Cummings, the freshman phenom Caleb Haney, and Sam Hinds were the other scorers for the Shamrocks. Haney ran a new PR, inching closer to joining the sub 17:00 club. Other strong races for the varsity squad were run by Owen Mohler (who also earned a new PR), Will Snedeker, and Caub Douthit. The JV boys finished 5th, led by freshman Taye Gutwein’s massive PR and his top 20 finish in the race. Senior Carson Goodman earned the prestigious Belt this week, running a big PR on a very tough day to run fast. Luke Sullivan ran a season best time and finished as Westfield’s third runner, and the scorers were rounded out by Drew Neely and Corwyn Barrows. Other strong races were run by John Degan, Paul Williams, Noah Armitage, Cole Herring, Jeremy Smits, Eli LaRosa, and Connor Seagrave – all of whom earned PRs. The Shamrocks are back in action at the HCC Championships on Saturday at White River Elementary in Noblesville. The boys varsity race runs at 10:00 am, and the JV runs at 11:00 am.
