The Westfield Shamrocks JVW defeated the Brownsburg Bulldogs 14-3 on Thursday evening. 3 pitchers helped keep the Bulldogs to only 2 hits and 3 runs. Aiden Trevino started on the mound and allowed 2 runs on 1 hit with 3 strikeouts. Garrett Tucker came in relief allowing 0 runs and 0 hits with 3 strikeouts and Collin Kern closed the game allowing 1 run on 1 hit and 3 strikeouts. Outstanding performances for all the pitchers on Thursday. The Shamrocks collected 9 total hits on the day. 3 of which came from Evan Govert. Govert tripled in the third inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the fifth inning. He was a homerun away from hitting the cycle. Kasen Jessup, Landon Campbell, Logan Sumpter, Reid Dikos, Logan Robe, and Coltyn Price each collected 1 hit on the day. Brady Bafia and Ryker Brenneman contributed with each of them having 1 sacrifice fly. Jessup, Campbell, and Govert each tripled and Logan Robe had an inside the park home run. The Shamrocks stole a total of 7 bases. 3 of which came from Govert, 2 from Jessup, and 1 from both Cameron Nelson and Maddox Novotny. The Westfield Shamrocks played a great game and showed what great team baseball should look like. The Shamrocks JVW team takes on North Central for a double header on Saturday at 10am.
