The Westfield Shamrocks JV softball team holds on to beat Pendleton Heights 9-7 in Wednesday night's game. The Shamrocks were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Reese Mahannah hit a home run to left field, scoring two runs. Hayden Rice homered to centerfield later in the third inning also scoring two runs. Mac Delph started the game in the circle for the Rocks. Delph gave up zero runs over four and one third innings. She struck out six and gave out zero walks. Ali Kainrath came in as relief for two and two thirds innings. Mahannah led the Rocks with three runs batted in. Julia Stormer led the Shamrocks in hits with 3 hits in four at bats. Lindsey Vaught and Mac Delph each collected multiple hits in the game. The Shamrocks are back in action tonight at 6:00pm against Franklin Central.
