JV White Baseball Defeats Flashes

Three pitchers worked together to hold the Franklin Central Flashes at 4 runs in a 7-4 victory for the Westfield Shamrocks JVW team. Landon Campbell started on the mound for The Shamrocks. Campbell went 3 innings, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Garrett Tucker earned the Win for the game when he came in with the score tied 4-4. He pounded the strike zone and only gave up 1 hit in 2 innings, allowing 0 runs with 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. The rocks put up 3 more runs making the score 6-4. Then the Flashes found themselves with bases loaded and 2 outs in the top of the 6th inning. The sound of trumpets could be heard as Collin Kern entered the game in the top of the 6th inning with bases loaded and 2 outs. Kern ended the inning on a big strikeout. He came back out in the top of the 7th, struck out the first 2 batters, and then Brady Bafia made a spectacular play at 3rd base to end the game. Kern was awarded the Save for the day. The Shamrocks had 7 hits on the day. Bryce Swadener went 2 for 4 at the plate with 1 stolen base and 1 RBI. Cameron Nelson, Aiden Trevino, Ryker Brenneman, Coltyn Price, and Logan Sumpter each collected 1 hit. The Shamrocks played great team baseball to earn themselves the victory today. They look to sweep Franklin Central at Franklin Central on Thursday.
