The 15th ranked Rocks traveled to North Central tonight to open the season with the 19th ranked Panthers. The Rock jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning off a Brayden Hibler sacrifice fly. Then, the Rocks scored 5 runs in the 3rd, one run in the 4th and 7 runs in the 7th inning en route to a 14-2 blowout victory. Owen Swinford started on the mound for the Rocks, pitching 3.1 innings allowing 2 hits, 2 earned runs and striking out 5 to earn the win. Jackson Blevins, Nathan Bodenberg and Drew Law each had scoreless relief. Offensively, Westfield was led by Brayden HIbler who was 0 for 0 with 3 walks and 3 RBI in 5 plate appearances. Alex Rudolph was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI. Ian Wilson was 1 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI and Drew Law was 1 for 3 with an RBI and three stolen bases. The Rocks (1-0) will travel to Franklin Central to open a HCC series with the Flashes on Wednesday.
