The boys track team competed at the Hoosier State Relays, the indoor State finals, on Saturday, March 23. The 4x800 relay of Will Snedeker, Caleb Haney, Jack Loiselle, and Landon Jones earned the highest finish of any Shamrock competitors, finishing 3rd with a time of 8:01.42 - a season best time by 9 seconds. Snedeker started off the relay with a new season best split, followed by Haney's sub 2:00 performance - the first of his season - which moved the relay from 6th place into 3rd place. Loiselle followed up Haney's effort by running a season best time by three seconds, putting Jones in great position to run an outstanding anchor leg, holding off six challengers that finished within four seconds of him. The 4x200 relay of Cade Parker, Cato June, Connor Seagrave, and Deacon King also earned a medal, finishing 6th place - despite being seeded 13th entering the meet. The Shamrocks were in the second of four heats, but ran a faster time than anybody in the third heat, and only three teams in the fastest heat beat them. The Shamrocks ran almost a full second faster than their seed time. The 4x400 relay of Jack Huisden, Maxim Poirier, Mikeah Webster, and Snedeker finished 9th place - just missing receiving medals by one spot. Huisden also competed in the 60m hurdles, finishing 21st. Robert Campbell finished 13th in the high jump with his clearance of 6'2. Alex Wilson also competed in pole vault. The Shamrocks are back in action on Monday, March 25, at home against Hamilton Southeastern.
