Saturday night, the girls track and field team participated in the Nike Hoosier State Relays, Indiana's indoor state chanpionships. There were some great peformances by the girls, and the team finished 19th out of the 66 teams that qualified athletes for the meet. The meet started with Lucy Hauser running the 60 meter hurdles. She qualified for finals and finished 7th in the meet as Westfield's first medalist of the night. That great performance was followed by Alivia Lozier's spectacular 10th place finish in the 3200 run,. Running a huge PR, the freshman finished 10th in the meet. Next up was the 4x800 relay of Jordyn Landrum, Emily Loiselle, Liz Smith, and Maggie Naas. With a very solid race and running their season-best time by 5 seconds, they finished just out of the medals in 9th. The Distance Medley Relay was next with Lina Abriani, LeBraya Warren, Ena Durbin, and Ella Bozarth all having great races. Finally the 4x400 of Naas, Abbi Van Bibber, Landrum, and Hauser took home the second medal of the night for the Shamrocks, with their best performance of the season, for a 6th place finish. Gracie Czubik (long jump), and Jada Henson (shot put) also had very solid performances in individual events. Now the Shamrocks turn their attention to the outdoor season with a meet Monday night at Hamilton Southeastern before they get a few well-deserved days off for spring break.
