Boys Track and Field Competes at Blue and White Relays

The Shamrocks competed in the Blue & White Relays, the final HSR qualifying meet of the season, on March 16. The individual track portion started with two PRs by Owen Mohler and Nathan McKeever in the 3200. Mohler ran a season best by nearly 20 seconds with a fantastic race, running 10:04, while McKeever earned another PR, running 10:27. Cade Parker and Caleb Terril ran great races in the 60m dash, running 7.17 and 7.26 respectively. Jack Huisden ran a season best in the 60m hurdles, finishing second in a time of 8.61, which is the 29th fastest time in the state's large school division. In the relay portion of the meet, there were several PR and season best splits run by the competitors. The 4x800 of Drew Neely, Jack Loiselle, Deagan Imel, and Luke Moulder finished 3rd, with new PRs set by Neely, Imel, and Moulder. The 4x200 relay of Cayden Gearhart, Caleb Terril, Caden Honeycutt, and Kade Johnson finished 3rd place. In the DMR, Ian Porter, Braeden Dewes, Carson Ackley, and Ty Conner ran a season best time of 10:57.73. Porter ran a season best 1200 split, and Conner ran a 4:34 1600 leg, which was a PR of nearly 10 seconds. The 4x400 of Lane Norris, Anthony Sulewski, Jack Huisden, and Maxim Poirier finished 2nd, with season best legs by all competitors. During the field event portion of the meet, Robert Campbell cleared a new career best height of 6'3, placing him 2nd in the meet and tied for 12th in the state's large school division. In the pole vault, Lucas Bland cleared a new career best height of 12'0, finishing 3rd. Next up for the Shamrocks is the Brownsburg dual meet on Thursday. That will be followed by Hoosier State Relays, the indoor state championships, on Saturday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion, located at the State Fairgrounds.
