Girls Track and Field Competes at HCC Indoor Invitational

The Westfield Girls Track and Field team competed at the HCC Indoor meet last night, finishing 6th and turning in many outstanding performances including season and lifetime bests. The highlight of the night was Lucy Hauser, taking the 60 hurdles in dominating fashion for a conference championship. Another outstanding individual performances was turned in by Gracie Czubik who bested her lifetime performance by a foot in the long jump for a 2nd place finish. Jada Henson had an outdstanding 4th place finish in the shot put, with another lifetime best, and Julia Syljebeck went 5' in the high jump, her season best. Trynati Hoosier also had a fine night in her first long jump outing of the year scoring points in that event as well. The 4x400 relay also had a great night. Maggie Naas, Abbi Van Bibber, Jordyn Landrum, and Lucy Hauser ran an outstanding 4:07.52 to finish 3rd, which is also the 4th best time in the state this season to date. Also scoring points were the 4x800 of Lina Abriani, Gianna Ferreri, Ena Durbin, and Olivia Barnett, the 4x200 of Lauren Linville, LeAsia Warren, LeBraya Warren, and Trynati Hoosier, and the Distance Medley Relay of Naas, Kaitlyn Eblen, Landrum, and Alivia Lozier. In addition to this being the HCC Indoor meet, teams are also trying to qualify for HSR (the indoor state championships for Indiana).
