The freshmen football team travelled down to New Palestine to kick off the regular season on Saturday. The Rocks defense started off hot forcing a 3 and out on the opening drive. Five plays later Deacon King forced his way into the endzone to score the opening points of the season. The following New Pal drive was put to halt after Deacon King forced a fumble that was recovered by Cayden Honeycutt. To begin the second quarter, QB Aidan Grabowski faked a handoff and raced to endzone to add to the Rocks lead. The rest of the game was an explosive battle as the Rocks and Dragons fought back and forth for control of the game. Unfortunately, the Rocks came up short in the end by a final score of 43-42. The Rocks will be back in action this Saturday at home against Lawrence Central.
