By Tyler Nicole | Aug 20, 2022 12:00 AM

The boys varsity cross country team finished second place at the Plainfield Relays, despite missing some heavy hitters at the top of the lineup. The relay pairing of Owen Flynn and Colin Lakomek were the top finishers for the Shamrocks, getting 4th place overall. Owen Mohler and Drew Lovelace finished just behind them in 6th place. Also having outstanding days for the varsity squad were William Cummings and Ike O’Neill. The JV team won the meet, thanks to putting nine runners in the top 15 of the race. Charlie Naas led the way with a 3rd place finish, and he was closely followed by Drew Neely (5th), Owen Ferreri (6th), and John Degan (7th). Caub Douthit rounded out the scorers, placing 10th overall. Naas, Neely, Ferreri, and Degan were all separated by just six seconds. Also having very strong efforts were Graham Hoffman, Braeden Dewes, Jace Lee, Jeremy Smits, Derek Moskowitz, Cole Herring, Matthew Martinez, and Peter Harrington. The Shamrocks are back in action on Saturday at the Hamilton County meet at White River Elementary in Noblesville. The varsity boys run at roughly 9:30, while the JV boys run at roughly 10:30.
