By Tyler Nicole | Sep 1, 2022 1:49 PM

The 15th ranked boys varsity cross country team placed 5th at the Hamilton County Championships, despite being the 6th best team in the county based on rankings entering the meet. Owen Flynn led the way for the Shamrocks, with his 17th place finish and new PR earning him All-County honors. Jack Loiselle, coming off an illness, earned a 20 second PR and finished just a few seconds behind Flynn. William Cummings, Colin Lakomek, and Drew Lovelace rounded out the scorers for the Shamrocks. The freshman phenom Caleb Haney and the sophomore sensation Owen Mohler completed the top 7 – all seven of those athletes earned big lifetime PRs. The JV squad also finished 5th, led by Owen Ferreri’s new season best time. Evan Shupe earned a big PR and finished as Westfield’s second runner. Caub Douthit, Corwyn Barrows (who also earned a big PR) and Taye Gutwein rounded out the scorers for the Shamrocks. Other great races were run by Jace Lee, Nick Tomaszewski, Braeden Dewes, Derek Moskowitz (who ran a 3 minute PR!), Cole Herring, Caleb Rasche, Drake Danubio, Matthew Martinez, and Connor Seagrave. The Shamrocks are back in action at the Brownsburg Invite on Saturday at Brownsburg East Middle School. Varsity races at 9:15 and JV races at 10:45.
