The Westfield Girls cross country team competed Saturday at the IHSAA State Finals in Terre Haute to wrap up the 2026 season. The Shamrocks placed 10th as a team with 279 points in a very competitive field. This was the 3rd top 10 finish at the state meet for Westfield in the last 4 years. There were many great performances on the day for the Rocks. The individual highlight for the Shamrocks was sophomore Jenna Burns placing 22nd overall in the race in a time of 17:57. The top 25 finish earned her All-State honors and she becomes the 9th athlete in Westfield history to place top 25 at the State finals. Burns time of 17:57 is also the fastest ever by a Shamrock at the state meet and the first under 18 minutes. The next two finishers for Westfield were Sydney Decker who finished in 49th place and Alivia Lozier placing 50th. Sam Foster was the next Shamrock placing 120th overall and Mackenna Condon rounded out the scoring five for Westfield placing 190th. Sofia Grisel and Ella Lidskin completed the State meet lineup for the Shamrocks 10th place team finish. Thank you to everyone for cheering us on in the 2026 season. A great way to wrap up the season with a top 10 team finish and an All-State individual! Let’s Go Rocks!
