The Westfield Girls cross country team competed Saturday night at the Nike XC Town Twilight Meet in Terre Haute. The Shamrocks placed 10th as a team in the championship and open races, while Westfield also placed 8th in the JV race. There were many great performances on the day for the Rocks. In the Championship race, Westfield placed 10th in the 44 team field with 382 points. The first finisher for the Rocks was Jenna Burns running to a new PR time of 18:05 placing 17th for Westfield. Sydney Decker (40th) and Alivia Lozier (46th) were the next two scorers for the Rocks both placing in the top 50. Sofia Grisel and Reese Holstein rounded out the scoring for Westfield in the championship race aiding in the 10th place team finish. In the combined Open race, Westfield also placed 10th with 426 points. The first finisher for the Rocks was Ella Bozarth running to a time of 20:04 to place 23rd overall. Then there was a 15 second gap comprising of Westfields next 5 runners that included Maggie Naas, Hayley Pitney, Sam Plummer, Jade Keefer, and Norah Lahr to close the door on the scoring. In the JV race, Westfield placed 8th with 260 points. The first finisher for the Rocks was Harper Hill running to a time of 22:38. The next two scorers for Westfield were Quinn Lee and Gabby McKinney placing 63rd and 67th respectively. Lauren Zelik and Carly Herring rounded out the scoring five for the Rocks placing 77th and 83rd respectively to help Westfield's 8th place finish. Westfield will compete next at the Brownsburg JV Invite on Saturday to wrap up the regular season. Let’s Go Rocks!
