The Westfield JV Shamrocks improved to 5-1 on the year and 3-1 in conference play with a 25-19 win over the visiting Brownsburg Bulldogs. The Shamrocks put together a complete game in all 3 phases to defeat the Bulldogs. Offensively, the Rocks were led by Player of the Game Shon Edmond from his RB position. Shon had multiple explosive runs throughout the morning to lead the Rocks. Mr. Consistency for the offense went to John Rendall who was making key blocks from his Center position all morning. The Big Play of the game came when the Shamrocks converted a 4th and 5 in the 4th quarter that allowed them to ice the game away. On defense, the Player of the Game honors went to LB Jackson Coker. Jackson led the defense with key tackles all morning long. The Mr. Consistency for the defense was given to Graham Miller from his defensive back position. The Big Play of the Game came when DL Michael Sotolongo intercepted a Bulldog screen pass and set the Shamrock offense up in scoring position. For Special Teams, the Rocks were led by kicker Anderson Corya who converted all of his extra points and made a field goal on the day. Carson Doane provided consistent play on different special teams throughout the game. The Big Play of the Game for the special teams unit came on the opening kickoff when Jay’Allen Crumedy returned the kick all the way down to the Brownsburg 10 yard line. The Shamrocks return to action next Saturday, October 3rd when they travel to Avon for a 10 AM kick.
