The boys cross country team finished as HCC runner-up, earning their highest finish at the Conference meet since 2013. The Shamrocks were led by Nathan McKeever’s 3rd place finish and new PR. There were three additional All-HCC performances: Bryce Pittman (8th), JP Mikels (10th), and Luke Moulder (12th). All four All-HCC finishers ran under 16:00, marking the first time in team history that four athletes have broken 16:00 in the same season, let alone in the same meet. The final scorer was Carson Ackley, who ran a season best by almost 30 seconds. McKeever’s PR of 15:32 moved him to 5th all time in team history, and Mikels’s new PR moved him into 14th all time. The top 5 scorers averaged 15:54, which is the third best performance in team history. Other great performances in the championship race included Dexter Hoffman, Brayden Cring, Deagan Imel, Donovan Ledford, Max Lynaugh, Brecken Snyder, and Pedro Silveira. The boys are back in action on Saturday night at the Nike XC Town Twilight, run under the lights at Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, the home of the State meet.
