Girls' Cross Country HCC

The Westfield Girls cross country team competed Saturday at Noblesville in the HCC Championships at White River elementary. The Shamrocks won the conference championship for the 2nd year in a row! Westfield also placed 2nd in the JV and open races. There were many great performances on the day for the Rocks. In the varsity race, Westfield came away as team champions with 69 points in a close meet finishing 2 points ahead of 2nd place Avon. The win marks back to back HCC titles for Westfield for the first time since 2007-08. Alivia Lozier was the first finisher for Westfield placing 7th in a time of 18:21. Jenna Burns (9th) and Sydney Decker (11th) were the next two finishers for the Rocks both earning all-conference honors placing in the top 15. Sam Foster and Mackenna Condon rounded out the scoring for Westfield placing 19th and 24th respectively. Sofia Grisel also had a standout performance as the Rocks 6th finisher running to a new PR of 19:37. In the JV race, Westfield placed 2nd with 60 points. Reese Holstein was the top finisher for the Rocks in the scored JV meet running to a time of 19:59 as the top JV runner in the field. Remaining Westfield scorers for the JV race were Carly Davis, Charlotte Isaacs, Elle Meyers, and Lyla Osborn. In the open race, Westfield finished 2nd with 60 points. Maggie Naas was the Rocks first finisher placing 5th in a time of 20:27. Ella Bozarth was the Rocks next finisher placing 7th in a time of 20:42. Jade Keefer, Norah Lahr and Hayley Pitney rounded out the scoring for Westfield’s 2nd place team finish. Westfield will compete next at the Nike Twilight meet next Saturday at LaVern Gibson in Terre Haute. Let’s Go Rocks!
