The Westfield Girls cross country team competed Saturday, and hosted, the Flashrock Invite at Northview Church in Carmel. The Shamrocks placed 3rd as a team in the varsity and JV races that were raced simultaneously. Westfield also placed 3rd in the open race. There were many great performances on the day for the Rocks. In the Varsity race, Westfield placed 3rd with 65 points in a competitive meet. Jenna Burns and Emma Pitney were the first finishers for the Rocks with the duo placing 8th and 9th respectively. Alivia Lozier was the next finisher for Westfield placing 12th as the Rocks 3rd scorer. Sydney Decker (15th) and Mackenna Condon (21st) rounded out the scoring for Westfield. Other medalists placing top 35 for the Rocks were Sam Foster in 27th and Ella Lidskin in 31st. In the JV race, Westfield placed 3rd with 82 points. Sofia Grisel was the top finisher for the Rocks in the scored JV meet running to a time of 20:42. Remaining scorers for the JV race were Reese Holstein, Sam Plummer, Charlotte Isaacs, and Claudia Southworth. In the open race, Norah Lahr had the highlight race for Westfield as the Rocks first finisher placing 8th racing to a time of 21:36 for a new PR. Lyla Osborn was the Rocks next finisher placing right behind Lahr in 9th also in a time of 21:36. Jade Keefer, Ella Bozarth, and Cameron Goodwin rounded out the scoring for Westfield’s 3rd place team finish. Westfield will compete next at the HCC championships next Saturday at Noblesville.
