The Westfield Shamrocks finished out the season competing in the IHSAA State Finals over the weekend. This was the 16th State Meet appearance for the Rocks and the team once again added to the legacy of Westfield Cross Country at the State meet. The Shamrocks placed 10th as a team in the overall standings with 291 points earning Westfield's 13th Top 10 finish in State Finals history. That number ranks 8th all-time among all Indiana girls teams for top 10 finishes. The Rocks were once again led by senior Liz Smith who placed 27th overall and freshmen Liv Lozier placing 40th. Liz and Liv both ran strong races competing with the front of the field the entire race, and scoring low to aid the Rocks to the 10th place team finish. Maggie Naas was Westfield's 3rd runner placing 108th in a new lifetime best of 19:23 running a strong complete race. Emily Loiselle placed 161st as the Rocks 4th finisher running under 20:00 with a time of 19:58 to finish out a great season. Gianna Ferreri continued her strong postseason by finishing as our 5th scorer in 171st place to once again contribute to the team scoring. Jordyn Landrum and Ena Durbin finished as the Rocks 6th and 7th runners adding to the great depth that the Rocks had this year and placed 191st and 207th respectively in both of their first State Meets. Thank you to everyone who followed along with Westfield Girls Cross Country this season. We are excited to bring back many athletes for the 2024 season and we can't wait to see what the future holds for Westfield Cross Country! Go Rocks!
