STATE MEET BOUND!!! The Shamrocks have once again qualified for the IHSAA State Finals by placing in the top 5 teams at the regional level. Westfield placed 4th over the weekend at the Shelbyville Regional in a very competitive field with many of the state's best teams and have punched their ticket to the state finals. On the day, it was senior Liz Smith once again leading the way for the Rocks with a 4th place individual finish in a time of 18:26 that included a great "middle mile push" and a strong finish. Smith's freshmen running mate, Liv Lozier also had a strong race placing 10th and was the fastest freshmen in the race as well. Sophomore Gianna Ferreri continued her strong postseason placing 46th as the Rocks number three runner as she led a caravan of teammates into the finish with Maggie Naas placing 48th and Jordyn Landrum placing 55th. Emily Loiselle and Ella Bozarth rounded out the regional lineup for the Rocks team that placed 4th overall. The state meet appearance will be the 16th in Westfield Girls Cross Country history with the last appearance in 2021 where the Rocks placed 8th. Good luck to the Shamrocks this week as they get ready to head to Terre Haute next Saturday and compete at the IHSAA State finals! Go Rocks!
