The JV Shamrocks finished the season with a strong win, 24-16, against the visiting Franklin Central Flashes. Contributions came from all over the field, in all 3 areas of the game. On offense, the Rocks were led by Preston Pekala from his Tight End position. Preston made big plays in both the passing and run game throughout the morning. Consistent play came from Carsen Melvin at the Quarterback position. The big play from the offense came on a TD run from Devon Casteel to extend the lead to 2 scores. The Shamrock defense was led by player of the game Matthew Spencer. Consistency was given by multiple players, specifically Beau Bunnell, Alex Macdonald, and Riley Davison. The big play came from the whole defense on a big 4th down stop following a turnover. On special teams, the player of the game and big play performer was Owen Wright. Owen hit a field goal in the 3rd quarter to give the Rocks the lead and they would never give it back. Consistent play was given by Austin Umbaugh throughout the game. The Shamrocks end their season with a 5-4 record on the year and lots of excitement for the future of the Shamrock football program.
