The Westfield Girls cross country team competed Saturday at the Hamilton County Championships in Noblesville. The Shamrocks won as a team in the varsity race and placed 2nd in the JV race. There were many great performances on the day for the Rocks. In the Varsity race, Westfield won with 56 points earning their first Hamilton County title in cross country since 2007. The first finisher for the Rocks was Jenna Burns running to a PR time of 18:30 placing 9th. Alivia Lozier was the next Westfield finisher placing 10th in a time of 18:44. Westfield had 4 more runners place in the top 20 to earn All-County honors. Emma Pitney, Mackenna Condon, and Sydney Decker placed 13th, 14th, and 15th respectively to round out the Rocks scoring numbers. Ella Lidskin placed 19th in a time of 19:35 as Westfield’s 6th runner. In the JV race, Westfield placed 2nd with 60 points. The first finisher for the Rocks was Sam Plummer running to a time of 21:03 placing 9th. Westfield had 3 more runners finish under 22 minutes as Charlotte Isaacs, Lyla Osborn, and Jade Keefer placed 12th, 13th, and 14th respectively. Ella Bozarth rounded out the scoring for the Rocks placing 20th overall for the runner-up Shamrocks. Westfield will compete next at the Columbus North Invite next Saturday at CERAland Park.
