The Shamrocks came out firing on all cylinders this past Saturday and put up a 31-0 win against the visiting Avon Orioles to improve their record to 4-3 on the year. Contributions came from all over the field, in all areas of the game. A shutout performance from the defense set the tone and led the way for the Rocks all morning. Isaac Weingart led the way for the Shamrock D all morning with strong play from his linebacker position. Thomas Vandergriff gave strong, consistent play throughout the day as he locked down the Oriole receivers. The big play came when Preston Dirks forced a fumble and Weingart recovered. Offensively, the Rocks posted some explosive plays which help spark the team. Carsen Melvin commanded the offense in the first half and threw multiple great passes during the game. Kaleb Darts caught 2 TD passes from Melvin in the first half to show his strong play. Consistent play came from the OL with John Alberta and Jordan Gross playing physical and aggressive throughout the game. The big play for the offense came on a long pass from Melvin to Darts. The Rocks special teams unit came to play throughout the game. The punt block team brought the energy all game which led to an Owen Swinford block and recovery for a TD. Thomas Vandergriff also provided consistent play throughout the morning. The Rocks go on the road to Fishers this coming Saturday to take on the Tigers at 10 AM.
