Westfield track and field competed on Tuesday night in the regional round of the IHSAA tournament and had many athletes punch their tickets to the State finals while also aiding in the Shamrocks 3rd place team finish! Westfield's third place finish in the team results was the Rocks highest finish at regionals since 2008. The 56 points scored by Westfield were also a program best since that 2008 season. The team had many great individual performances that helped contribute to the high team finish while also putting them in the state meet next week. Events that placed top 3 earning automatic spots in the state finals were, the 4x800 relay of Mackenna Condon, Emma Pitney, Jenna Burns, and Jordyn Landrum, Katelyn Eblen in the 100 hurdles , Eblen and Jenna Rhodes in the 300 hurdles, LeBraya Warren in the 200, and Ella Jenkins in the Pole Vault. Other athletes/events earning callback performances by being in the top 6 of non automatic qualifiers in the state were Rhodes in the 100 hurdles, Gracie Czubik in high jump and the 4x400 relay team of Melody Lowry, Landrum, Maggie Naas, and Jenna Moulder. Remaining point scorers for Westfield at regionals included Burns in the 3200, the 4x100 relay team of Lowry, Addy Busch, Izzy Brady, and Warren, and Jolie Miller in high jump. Westfield will be represented in 7 different events at the IHSAA State finals next Friday June 5th at North Central. Looking forward to finishing off what has been a great season for the Shamrocks. Let's Go Rocks!
