The boys track team competed in the IHSAA Fishers Sectional Thursday evening, finishing 4th and advancing 10 individuals and all three relays to the Lafayette Jefferson Regional. The boys produced 3 sectional champions on Thursday. The 4x800 of Nathan McKeever, Deagan Imel, Donovan Ledford, and Carson Ackley easily took the relay to start the meet. Then Logan Tuck ran the fastest race of his life, finishing 1st in the 110 hurdles, and the 4x100 relay of Caleb Terril, Tuck, Cayden Gearhart, and Olu Fapetu followed that up with the win, once again breaking the school record, the sectional record, and putting down the 2nd fastest time in the state this year, running a blazing 41.12. The other advancing athletes from this very tough sectional were three 100m runners: Cayden Gearhart, Maison McCray, and Olu Fapetu who finished 2nd 3rd and 4th; Caleb Terril who finished 2nd in the 200; Ryd Wallerstedt, who finished 2nd in the 400; Brady Lemieux who was 2nd in pole vault; the 4x400 relay of Wallerstedt, Luke Moulder, Ledford, and Terril who also finished 2nd; Luke Moulder who was 3rd in the 1600; Jack Eberhart who finished 5th in the shot put; and Jordan Gross who made the regional with a strong 7th in the discus. Other athletes who scored for the Shamrocks were Jackson Dukes, Chase Thompson, Bryce Pittman, Christian Faleke, and Graham Schaaf. Special recognition to Austin Scheerer, who very likely would have made the regional, but was injured during warm-ups for the pole vault, ending his excellent high school career. The boys are back in action at the Regional, Thursday, May 28, at Lafayette Jefferson HS.
