Westfield JVW Rocks battled from start to finish and earned a thrilling 9-8 comeback victory over Harrison on Friday night in a true team effort. After falling behind late, the Rocks responded with toughness and energy in the bottom of the sixth inning. Grant O’Hara laid down a clutch bunt that forced a defensive error and brought home two runs to tie the game, setting the stage for Quinn Hackman’s go-ahead RBI single that gave Westfield the lead for good. Westfield came out swinging early, scoring four runs in the first inning behind disciplined at-bats and timely hitting. Graham Baker drove in two runs with a big hit, while Luke Campbell added an RBI single. Khanon Uribe gave the Rocks another spark in the third inning with an inside-the-park home run to put Westfield back on top. The offense was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup as Graham Baker collected three hits, while Quinn Hackman, Jackson Coker, Khanon Uribe, Luke Campbell, Landon Schneider, Logan Turner, and Blair Gallienne each added hits of their own. The Rocks continued to apply pressure on the bases and at the plate all night long, refusing to back down in a back-and-forth game. On the mound, Austin Wheelhouse started the game and battled through three innings with three strikeouts, while Wyatt Walker delivered four gritty innings in relief to help secure the win. Westfield showed resilience all game long, overcoming adversity with timely hitting, aggressive play, and nonstop fight to finish off an exciting comeback victory
