JV White Baseball Falls to HSE, 7-2

Westfield JVW showed fight from the first pitch to the final out Thursday night against HSE, battling adversity and competing hard in a 7-2 contest. Ryan Mitchell gave the Rocks a tremendous start on the mound, working 5.2 strong innings while allowing just two earned runs and striking out five. Mitchell kept Westfield in the game all night with efficient pitching and poise under pressure. Quinn Hackman and Blair Gallienne both came in to battle in relief, with Gallienne closing the game by attacking the zone and recording a strikeout. Offensively, the Rocks continued to grind out quality at-bats and put pressure on HSE throughout the night. Logan Turner had an outstanding day at the plate, collecting two hits and scoring a run while consistently finding barrels. Quinn Hackman delivered the biggest swing for Westfield with a two-RBI double. Blair Gallienne, Luke Campbell, and Ryan Mitchell each added hits as the Rocks totaled six hits as a team. Hudson Wade battled his way on base and scored a run, showing the relentless effort Westfield displayed from start to finish. Even late in the game, the Rocks continued competing, battling through every inning and never backing down.The Rocks JVW look to run it back against HSE Thursday evening at home.
