Westfield JVW showed a lot of fight and production in Wednesday’s matchup against HSE, collecting nine hits and jumping out to an early lead with two runs in the first inning. Blair Gallienne reached base and added a hit from the leadoff spot, while Hudson Wade continued to spark the offense with a run scored and a base hit. Khanon Uribe delivered a strong performance at the plate with two hits, and Quinn Hackman also recorded a two-hit game while driving in a run behind the dish. Jackson Coker contributed offensively with a hit, a walk, and a run scored, while Luke Campbell added an RBI knock for the Rocks. Sean Mitchell helped himself at the plate with a hit and also struck out four hitters on the mound over three innings of work. Wyatt Thayer was outstanding in relief, allowing just one hit and zero earned runs across three innings while striking out two to keep Westfield within reach late in the game. Defensively, the Rocks continued to battle throughout all six innings and showed resilience against a tough HSE squad. The Rocks JVW look to run it back against HSE Thursday evening at home.
