The boys track team hosted the HCC Championship track meet Thursday night, and finished a strong 4th place with a number of Shamrocks walking away with conference championships. Once again the Rocks star was Maison McCray. Maison won the 200 dash in dominating fashion, and is currently ranked 4th in Indiana in that event. He was also on the championship 4x100 relay with Caleb Terril, Logan Tuck, and Olu Fapetu (which won by .002 seconds!), and finished 3rd in the 100. Brady Lemieux was also a conference champion, matching his best pole vault performance of the year in challenging conditions. Another outstanding performance was turned in by Luke Moulder, who ran a great race finishing 2nd in the 1600. Austin Scheerer was also great, finishing 3rd in the pole vault, and Fapetu also ran well in the 100, finishing 4th. Bryce Pittman's 6th in the 3200 was also notable. Other point scorers included Caleb Terril in the 200, Logan Tuck in the 110 hurdles, Jordan Gross in the discus, Ryd Wallerstedt in the 400, Jay Crumedy in the long jump, Caleb Haney in the 800, and Nathan McKeever in the 3200, as well as the 4x400 of Wallerstedt, Moulder, Deagan Imel, and Carson Ackley. The Rocks next meet is Thursday, May 14 in the Hamilton County meet at Guerin HS.
