The Westfield boys track team traveled to Zionsville for its first big invitational before heading into the postseason. The Rocks finished 4th with a number of very good performances. The Rocks were very strong on the track Friday night. They opened with their only event champion of the evening when the 4x800 relay of Luke Moulder, Caleb Haney, Deagan Imel, and Carson Ackley won by a large margin. That was followed by Olu Fapetu and Jaii Patterson double scoring in the 100 dash, and Logan Tuck had another great race with a 3rd in the 100 hurdles. The strong early meet performances continued when Moulder came back in the 1600 and finished 4th, as did Caleb Terril in the 200. The 4x100 relay was also outstanding as Tuck, Terril, Patterson, and Fapetu raced to a 2nd place finish. Also scoring points on the track were Ryd Wallerstedt in the 400, Jackson Dukes in the 300 hurdles, Haney in the 800, JP Mikels in the 3200, and the 4x400 of Wallerstedt, Ackley, Allan Dauss, and Dexter Hoffman in the 4x400 relay. The field events were highlighted by Brady Lemieux's 2nd-place finish in the pole vault, while Austin Scheerer finished 6th for the 2nd double scoring event of the day. Jack Eberhart rounded out the scoring in the shot put. The boys are back in action Monday at the Carmel JV Invite, and on Thursday at home at the HCC Championships.
