Girls Track and Field Places 2nd at Zionsville Invite

Westfield track and field headed to Zionsville for a big invite against many of the state's best teams and individuals, and even in unideal conditions, were rewarded with a second-place team finish along with many great performances. The 4x800 relay team got the night started strong with a 2nd-place finish. The relay team of Sam Foster, Maggie Naas, Alivia Lozier, and Ella Bozarth set the tone for the night by placing 2nd in a time of 9:59 to score big points for the Rocks. More points started to stack up as the hurdling duo of Katelyn Eblen and Jenna Rhodes both PR'd in the 100 hurdle trials before placing 4th and 5th overall in the finals of the event. Eblen and Rhodes also scored in the 300 hurdles by placing 5th and 6th, respectively. The 4x400 relay team of Jordyn Landrum, Maggie Naas, Jenna Moulder, and Melody Lowry had a strong race to place 2nd in a competitive race. In the field events, Ella Jenkins was the solo event champion for the Rocks, winning the pole vault at 11'6", and Gracie Czubik placed 3rd in the high jump at 5'2". Other point scorers for Westfield included Jenna Burns in the 1600, the 4x100 relay team of LeBraya Warren, Addy Busch, Melody Lowry, and Gracie Czubik, Landrum and Moulder in the 400, Mackenna Condon in the 800, Warren in the 200, and Jolie Miller in the high jump. Westfield will compete again on Tuesday, May 5th, at Avon in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship meet. Let's Go Rocks!
