Rocks Place 2nd at Noblesville JV Invite

The Shamrocks competed in the Noblesville JV Invite on Thursday and came away with a 2nd place team finish in the four-team field and had many outstanding performances with six event champions. Claudia Southworth got the winning ways started in the 1600, winning in a time of 5:39 in a solo effort. The distance races kept coming Westfield's way as Hayley Pitney also won the 800 in a big solo effort with a new PR time of 2:26.89. Then Sam Plummer won the 3200 also in a new personal best performance of 12:13. Phoebe Smith was the final individual event champion, winning the 200 in a time of 28.09. The Rocks also won two relays as the 4x100 relay of Lucy Miles, Chloe Stuart, Olivia Pendygraft, and Smith took first place, as well as the 4x400 relay team of Stuart, Avery Taylor, Pendygraft, and Pitney winning their race in dominant fashion. Other scorers for Westfield on the evening included Makena Schwerin in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Addy Friermood in the 100 hurdles and pole vault, LeAsia Warren in the 100, Carly Davis in the 1600, Agnes Lamar in the 400, Lily Sergeant in the 300 hurdles, Jill Ewing in the 800, Anna Wochomurka in the 200 and pole vault, Lia Ricke in the 200 and long jump, and April Heckert in the 200. A very successful night for many athletes, resulting in new PRs and even some varsity lettering performances! The Rocks will next compete on Tuesday, May 5th, at Avon for the HCC championships.
