JV Girls Track and Field Finish 2nd in Triangular Meet

Westfield girls track and field continued a busy week, competing in a JV tri meet with Noblesville and HSE on Thursday. The Rocks had many great performances on the day on their way to a 2nd place team finish with 53 points. Westfield had 6 event winners on the day to aid in the 2nd-place team finish. Makena Schwerin started the meet off by winning the 100 hurdles in a new PR of 17.08. Then in the 1600, Ella Bozarth took the victory in a time of 5:46. Another hurdling victory came from freshmen Addy Friermood winning the 300 hurdles in a time of 51.58. Friermood also scored in the 100 hurdles and PR'd in the pole vault. The distance dominance continued as Charlotte Isaacs won the 800 in a time of 2:39 and Norah Lahr won the 3200 in a time of 13:17. Saigan McCray was the final meet winner for the Rocks, winning the 200 in a time of 28.14. Other scorers for Westfield included Kate Seewald in the 200, Alyssa Heavilin in the 400, Sofia Grisel and Lyla Osborn in the 1600, Lily Sergeant in the 100 and 300 hurdles, Presley Perkins and April Heckert in the long jump, and the 4x400 team of Bozarth, Avery Taylor, Osborn, and Grisel. Westfield has another busy week ahead with our final home meet of the season on Tuesday vs Fishers. Come out and support the Shamrocks in our senior night! Let's Go Rocks!
