Westfield sent many athletes to compete Friday in the Franklin Central Flashes Showcase with some of the best milers in the state of Indiana. The Shamrocks had some great performances and enjoyed a great night of distance running! The 4x800 relay team got the night started with a second place finish behind winner Carmel in a time of 9:56. Westfield relay team members included Hayley Pitney, Jordyn Landrum, Maggie Naas, and Sam Foster. Highlights from the mile races included freshmen Emma Pitney's 2nd place finish in heat 4 by racing to a new personal best of 5:13 for the full mile in an excellent race from start to finish. Jenna Burns and Mackenna Condon also had strong races with both finishing in a time under 5:17 for the full mile. Another freshmen, Ella Lidskin, also earned a PR by racing to a time of 5:29 for the full mile race. Westfield enjoyed an exciting night at the Flashes Showcase that saw many great races and strong performances. The Shamrocks will next compete at the Noblesville Invite on Wednesday April 22nd.
