JV Girls Tennis Defeats Orioles

The Lady Rocks JV tennis team took down the Avon Orioles at home on Thursday night. The evening started windy but ended with wins. 1 singles: freshman Bryn Hess made her high school singles debut, but played a tough opponent. She fell 0-8. 1 doubles: seniors Caroline Hopkins and Reese Miller led the Rocks with an 8-6 win. 2 doubles: junior Audrey Hanson and freshman Brooklyn Miller teamed up for an 8-1 win. 3 doubles: junior Erin Ramsey and freshman Kate Snoply brought home an 8-5 victory. 4 doubles: senior Jillian Pilcher and junior Carlie Raines dug deep to win 8-7(3). 5 doubles: the dream team of senior Olivia Essex and junior Sophie Ewing added an 8-5 win for Westfield. 6 doubles: Sophomore Jenna Awad and freshman Aahana Yadav won their court 8-4. 7 doubles: Sophomore Varshini Mandi and freshman Manini Patel paired up for the second night in a row and won 8-3. 8 doubles: freshmen Chloe Zabinsky and Sneha Sharma played their first tiebreak of the season but fell by a score of 8-9. The Rocks added two additional wins in the playback matches. The ladies are back in action on Tuesday at home against HSE.
