The Westfield boys track team celebrated senior night Wednesday at Riverview Health Stadium, with a win against the Zionsville Eagles 95-32. With the team almost at full strength after struggling with a number of injuries early this season, the Rocks looked more themselves with a number of good performances. Logan Tuck started the night off with a win in his first 110 hurdles race of the year, with Jackson Dukes close behind in 2nd. The Rocks then swept the 100 with Cayden Gearhart ahead of Olu Fapetu and Ryd Wallerstedt. The 1600 saw Nathan McKeever winning his first race since the cross country season, with JP Mikels in 2nd. The 4x100 of Wallerstedt, Caleb Terril (in his season debut), Gearhart, and Fapetu running a fine early-season time. Chase Thompson and David Adelfolarin went 2/3 in the 400, and then Dukes ran away with the 300 hurdles, followed by Caleb Rasche. There were two more sweeps in the 800 with Caleb Haney, Bryce Pittman, and Brayden Cring, and the 200 with Gearhart, Wallerstedt, and Jayce Tressler finishing 1-3. The 3200 saw Luke Moulder running a fine time for the win, and the 4x400 relay of Allan Dauss, Jaeden Brown, David Adefolarin, and Dara Adedire rounding out the running events with a big win. In field events, Austin Scheerer won the pole vault with Rasche finishing 3rd, CJ Dilibe finished 2nd in the high jump, and Jay Crumedy and Fapetu were 2-3 in the long jump. Throws saw Jack Eberhart 2nd in the shot put, and Jordan Gross (with a great throw), Eberhart, and Graham Schaaf sweeping the discus. The Rocks are back in action on Friday with 3 showcase meets. Field event athletes are going to Lawrence North for the Bob Potter Showcase, sprinters are headed to Lafayette Jeff for the Bronchos Showcase, and the distance runners are at Franklin Central for the Flashes Showcase. The whole team comes together again on Monday, April 20, with a triangular meet with Carmel and Noblesville.
