Varsity and JV Girls Tennis Defeats Bulldogs

Varsity: The Lady Rocks secured a strong victory Wednesday in their home opener, defeating Brownsburg in conference play. The match featured an expanded varsity lineup with three singles and four doubles courts. Leading the way for the Rocks at #1 singles, Isla Harvey delivered a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win. Sloane Stephens followed with an impressive performance at #2 singles, earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory. At #3 singles, Alexis Halliburton battled through a tough three-set match but lost 2-6, 6-0, 2-6. In doubles, the #1 team of Jenna Berry and Bella Rivera took the 6-2, 6-3 win, while Kendall Omer and Rayna Roy dominated at #2 doubles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. The #3 doubles pair of Emerson Dierkes and Jilly Omer fought hard but came up short 2-6, 1-6, and at #4 doubles, Caroline Hopkins and Reese Miller dropped their match 3-6, 3-6. With the win, the Lady Rocks move to 1-1 on the season and will return to action Thursday at home against Avon. Junior Varsity: The JV Lady Rocks opened their home schedule Wednesday with a conference win over Brownsburg. Leading the way for the Rocks at #1 singles, Rebecca Doye earning a 8-5 win. In doubles action, the #1 team of Ava Bell and Brooklyn Miller dominated with an 8-1 victory, while Audrey Hanson and Kate Snoply battled to a 9-7 win at #2 doubles. At #3 doubles, Erin Ramsey and Bryn Hess fell 2-8, and the #4 doubles team of Jillian Pilcher and Carlie Raines finished in a 7-7 tie. The #5 duo of Aahana Yadav and Olivia Essex secured an 8-2 win, while Jenna Awad and Sophie Ewing dropped a close 6-8 match at #6 doubles. Rounding out the lineup, Varshini Mandli and Manini Patel won 8-3 at #7 doubles, and Chloe Zabinsky and Sneha Sharma earned an 8-4 victory at #8 doubles. With the win, the Lady Rocks move to 1-1 on the season and will return to action Thursday at home against Avon.
