The boys track team ended its indoor season Saturday at the HSR State Championships. It was a good day for the Rocks, finishing 11th of the 44 scoring teams in the state. The highlights included 3 podium finishes. The 4x800 finished 4th in the state with a blazing 7:52.90. The relay included 4 great performances from Donovan Ledford, Luke Moulder, Caleb Haney, and Carson Ackley, who brought the relay home with the 5th fastest split in school history. The 2nd podium relay was the 4x200 of Maison McCray, Cayden Gearhart, Niko Lent, and Ryd Wallerstedt. Lent had a great leg, having learned only last night that he was going to race! That performance was good enough for 5th in the state, and they set the school record with their performance. Finally, Brady Lemieux continued his great indoor season, with another personal best, clearing 14 feet, which was good enough for 9th in the state. Earlier in the week, the Rocks dropped a dual meet with Brownsburg, but had several outstanding performances in the meet. Of particular note was Austin Scheerer with a 12-foot PV under very difficult weather conditions. Other good performances came from 2 event winner Jackson Dukes, SP winner Jack Eberhart, Niko Lent, Christian Faleke, Caleb Rasche, Olu Fapetu, Graham Hoffman, Corbin Hasler, Peyton Hatcher, and Jordan Gross. The Shamrocks are back in action at home Tuesday at Riverview Health Stadium against the HSE Royals.
