It was a historic day in Westfield Track and Field history as the Shamrocks competed at the HSR Finals at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and came away with a 5th place team finish that included many medal-winning events, a state champion, and another school record. The Rocks' 5th-place finish was the highest placing finish at the HSR finals since 2016, when Westfield placed 4th with 31 points. The point total on the day Saturday was 26, which is also the highest for Westfield since that 2016 season. The first of the Shamrocks 4 medaling events came in the form of new HSR Champion, Ella Jenkins, who vaulted to a new PR and once again extended her school record to 13'3". Jenkins won the pole vault competition by 2 feet to win in dominating fashion. The next event to ascend the medal stand was the 4x800 meter relay team of Jenna Burns, Mackenna Condon, Sam Foster, and Jordyn Landrum. The 4x800 placed 6th in a time of 9:37 to earn all-state honors and saw the 4x800 place 6th in back-to-back years at the HSR Finals. Back to the field, Gracie Czubik was Westfield's next medalist by placing 5th in the high jump with a leap of 5'5" to ascend the HSR podium. The final medaling event of the day for the Shamrocks saw familiar faces as the 4x400 relay team of Katelyn Eblen, Landrum, Maggie Naas, and Czubik raced to a 6th place finish in a time of 4:01.39. A time also good enough for a new indoor school record, with all athletes running great splits on their relay legs. The 2026 edition of the HSR finals saw Westfield bring home lots of new hardware and record-breaking performances. That wraps up a wonderful indoor season for the Shamrocks. Westfield will be back in action on Tuesday vs HSE as we head to the outdoor season. Let's Go Rocks!
