The Shamrocks continued the indoor competition season with meets at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, taking place at the Fall Creek Pavilion, and came away with some great performances. The highlight of the week was on Thursday when Ella Jenkins won the pole vault competition while vaulting to a new personal best and extending her school record with a height of 13'0". Jenkins' leap is also good for the #1 spot in HSR large school qualifying ranks. Another highlight came from Tuesday's meet in which the 4x200 relay team of Izzy Brady, Jenna Rhodes, Melody Lowry, and Addy Busch raced to a time of 1:46.70 with each girl running great legs to help them place 4th out of 18 teams in the event. Other strong performances from the week included the hurdling duo of Rhodes and Katelyn Eblen, placing 5th and 6th, respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles, with each girl just milliseconds off personal best times. Westfield took 3 of the top 6 places in the 3200 meter run as Jenna Burns led the Shamrock charge, placing 3rd in 11:25. Mackenna Condon and Emma Pitney finished 5th and 6th respectively, with Pitney earning a new PR of 11:42. Sophie Croft opened her season by long jumping 16'.5" to place 8th in the long jump. It was another great week for Westfield Track and Field, as we look forward to a big week next week with our first outdoor meet of the season and many athletes qualifying for the HSR Finals. Go Rocks!
