Boys Track and Field Take on HCC Indoors

The Westfield Boys track team competed at the HCC Indoor Invitational on Wednesday night, finishing 6th. Missing some of its key contributors due to illness and injury, the boys nonetheless had some outstanding performances. Some of the standouts include Maison McCray who set a new school record in the 60 dash, finishing 3rd with a time of 7.0, Jack Eberhart who threw a new personal best of 49'7" in the shot put, finishing 4th overall. JP MIkels also PRed, running a fine 9:58 for a 7th place finish in the 3200. Kaleb Johnson was also outstanding, finishing in a tie for 2nd at 6'2", and Jay Crumedy took home 5th in the long jump with a 20'3" jump. In the relays, the 4x800 of Luke Moulder, Brandon Encinia, Carson Ackley, and Caleb Haney finished 2nd in the meet and improved their state ranking significantly, and the 4x400 of Ryd Wallerstedt, McCray, Haney, and Ackley finished 3rd and also moved up in the state rankings. Finally, the 4x200 of McCray, Wallerstedt, Johnson, and Rylan Reed ran a solid 6th in the meet.
