Shamrocks shined on the podium Wednesday night at the HCC Indoor Meet as Westfield had 3 events finish on the top 3 podium on their way to a third-place team finish. The Rocks started the evening with the first event champion as Ella Jenkins was victorious in the pole vault for the second meet in a row, winning the event while tying her mark from last Saturday with a 12'6" jump, over 2 feet ahead of the runner-up finisher. On the flip side of the meet, Westfield ended the last event of the day with two athletes placing on the podium as Gracie Czubik (2nd) and Katelyn Eblen (3rd) both jumped their way onto the podium with PR heights of 5'6" and 5'5" respectively in the high jump competition. The third podium event for Westfield came in the form of the 4x800 meter relay as Jenna Burns, Mackenna Condon, Sam Foster, and Jordyn Landrum combined for the 3rd place finish in a season-best time of 9:33.06. Other scoring events on the evening for Westfield included Eblen and Jenna Rhodes both placing in the top 5 of the 60-meter hurdles, earning big points for the Rocks. Czubik placed 7th in the long jump to score in her second event of the day. Gianna Ferreri also placing 7th in the 3200 while going under the 12-minute mark. All 4 relays placed top 5 in their events as the 4x200 and 4x400 relays both placed 4th, and the Distance Medley Relay team placed 5th. All these scoring events resulted in a team third-place finish for Westfield with 77 points, only 2 points behind second-place Avon. It was a wonderful night at HCC for the Shamrocks. Westfield will be back in action on Saturday for the third IWU HSR qualifier. Let's Go Rocks!
