Boys Track and Field Competes at IWU HSR Qualifiers

The Westfield HS boys track team competed in its first meets of the year, qualifiers for the HSR State Indoor Championships at the end of the month. There is a three-week qualifying period. At the end of this, the top 24 performances in the state (top 12 for PV and top 18 for HJ) are invited to the meet. At this point, there are a number of athletes who are in a position to qualify for HSR. Here are some athletes and their rankings: Logan Tuck #18 in 60 hurdles The 4x200 relay of Maison McCray, Cayden Gearhart, Ryd Wallerstedt, and last-minute replacement Kaleb Johnson #10 The 4x400 of Wallerstedt, Carson Ackley, Graham Hoffman, and Chase Thompson #20 The 4x800 of Donovan Ledford, Luke Stevens, Dexter Hoffman, and Graham Hoffman #18 The DMR of Caleb Haney, Maison McCray, Ackley, and Luke Moulder #10 Kaleb Johnson #8 in HJ Brady Lemieux #8 in PV There were a number of other athletes who had good performances as well. Friday night's standouts were: Rylan Reed, Jay Crumedy, Even Crow, Christian Faleke, Jackson Dukes, Brandon Encinia, Brecken Snyder, Brayden Cring, Chase Niccum, and Will Lohmeyer. Saturday's standouts included JP Mikels, Max Lynaugh, Austin Scheerer, and Jack Eberhart. Our qualifying continues this week with the HCC Indoor meet on Wednesday at Brownsburg HS and the 3rd IWU meet Saturday in Marion.
